The Premier Football Coaching program focusses on the "F.A. 4 corners principle"

Physical
The ABC, Agility, Balance, Concentration. Teaching good habits in these areas to children that will be needed in everyday life as well as on the football pitch.
Psychological
Teaching children to not be afraid to make mistakes. Accentuating the positives and helping them to think and make decisions for themselves on the pitch.
Social
Encouraging better interaction and communication between their friends, the coach and their parents, to make everyone feel part of the learning experience
5 to 6.5 year olds
Lots of fun games that help this age group learn the basics without really realising it! We concentrate on the ABC theory – Agility, Balance, and Concentration and help improve co-ordination and motor skills.
6.5 to 8 year olds
This age group is more likely to be independent and confident. They are also capable of taking on more technical instruction so we will be working a lot on first touch, different methods of controlling and passing the ball and introducing a little about the rules and nuances of the game.
8 to 9.5 year olds
Very competitive and the golden age for developing footballers, this is the age where good and bad habits are formed. Our aim is to make sure they take on board the good habits! We have already seen amazing results from our previous courses with players in this age group, the seven week program we have developed for this should not be missed.
9.5 to 11 year olds
We will be working on a wide range of techniques with this group. From positional sense and midfield – forward combinations to midfield – defensive combinations and finishing skills. This is where we really start to perfect the basic techniques and develop the independent tricks and skills.
11 to 13 year olds
A great age for coaching. Able to take on board fairly complicated information, we will be working on patterns of play formations and tactics as well as refining their individuality and giving them freedom to express it.
An Introduction to small sided football
The main theme throughout the small sided football is to meet the needs of the children playing. Children under 13 need a modified version of the senior game to make it uncomplicated without losing its essence.
All available research shows that children will learn more playing a game with smaller teams and modified rules. It is therefore a game children can actually play easily rather than trying to understand a game created for adults.
Small sided football will be very simple. The teams will play across the pitch with seven players on each side. The games will be 15 minutes each way with a brief interval at half time no more than 5 minutes. Substitutes will be rotated every 10 minutes and everyone will get the same playing time regardless of ability.
The right size ball is incredibly important to the development of player’s technique. No child under the age of 12 should be using a size 5 football. We will ensure that each age group is using the right size ball and smaller goals (ever seen a 6 year old stood in a full size goal? It is ridiculous!)
We will be using offical referees on Saturdays and the rules will be a toned down version of the 11 a side game. The idea is that we can gradually start to introduce rules and structure to the young players without stifling enjoyment and development.
We will be keeping scores and producing a league table but will be stressing to the players that learning and taking part is much more important than the result at this stage of their development.
